The ___? of Levi? vs The Lion of Judah
I find this work – exerting spurious biblical assertions to be suspect – in that it offers no Bible to support such / any of its claims.
Answer this Yahshua is called by Bible;
The Lion of Judah – from the Tribe of Judah
Tell me biblically where is Yahshua ever called by Bible;
The ___? of Levi ??? – from the Tribe of Levi?
this is bottom line theology – I do not care how grand the construct – what is this anchored to.
What is more; some try to ‘prove’ Yahshua is of the Tribe of Levi
Using such ‘proofs’ as;
Luke 3:23 And [Yahshua] himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,
Luke 3:24 Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of *Levi*, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,
Looks good until you consider Yahshua’s patriarchal lineage did not come thru any man (Luke 1:35), That’s why the ‘supposed’ part of v:23 – Besides the name ‘Levi’ is an Israelite name not necessarily exclusive to the Tribe of Levi. No Yahshua Levi lineage proof here!
Then some will site that since John the Baptist is Yahshua’s cousin that voilà Yahshua is now somehow Levite. Just because Zachariah was Levite and married Elizabeth (a relation down-line cousin to Mary or Mary’s mother or father), does Not automatically make Elizabeth or her relation (in this case Mary’s mother or father) or Mary herself a Levite. – And consider Elizabeth was a cousin (1st, 3rd, twice removed, etc. ???), that means that Mary’s mother or father had a sister or brother (a Jew) or cousin (Jew or other Tribe) that married Elizabeth’s mother or father (or grandparent or?) No Yahshua Levi lineage proof here either!
Besides all this – Those that munch after or pine for some shred of proof to substantiate a valid Levi/Levite/Levitical position; have to do so dis-regarding direct Biblical proof to the opposite. But then again this is the stuff of the Messianic ‘Levitical Mindset’.
Heb 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.
Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of [Melkizedeq], and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Heb 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our [Master] sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of [Melkizedeq] there ariseth another priest,
“without all contradiction, blessed of the better, not be called after the order of Aaron, the priesthood being changed, pertaineth to another tribe, For it is evident, our [Master] sprang out of Juda, it is yet far more evident …”
These are emphatic absolute terms and phrases. The honest cannot summarily just disregard this! To do so anyway is to find yourself at odds pitting the Bible against itself.
But then some will happily do so anyway – 2Ths.2:10-12
Acts 17:11 – Yahs Esteem
