Dr. Bill Bean

It is with sadness to announce

Dr. Edward William (“Bill”) Bean, 75, of Logansport, Indiana died on February 14, 2015 in his Nashville, Indiana home. Dr. Bean was an ordained minister in the American Baptist denomination. Early in his career, he served churches in Illinois, Indiana and then in California. Dr. Bean left full time ministry to begin the Centre for the Study of Biblical Research (CSBR) in Glendora, California. As the director of CSBR, Dr. Bean worked closely with the Jerusalem School and Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation as an advisory Board member. He was the author of ‘New Treasurers: A Hebraic Perspective of New Testament Teachings’.

In lieu of flowers, gifts to CSBR would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made to CSBR, P.O. Box 699, Glendora, California, 91740. Dr. William Bean will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

I very much appreciated finding the opportunity of CSBR it was a Theology Class with an Hebraic thrust without the ‘party-line’ denominational non-sense. Dr. Bean would start class by saying – ‘Leave your Theology at the door.’ He would also announce to the class (holding up a pencil w/an eraser) saying “this is a ‘Theology Stick’ you see that rubber end? You’re gonna need it” Dr. Bean had 1 of 2 reproductions of the Scroll of Isaiah here in America and would give Lectures and Presentations based on the discoveries of the DSS’s of Qumran. He will be missed.

    • As do I – I loved Dr. Bill and ‘Dumpster’ (their dog) many did – We can pray for ‘Mysti’ and His wife ‘Trish’ – If it weren’t for Dr. Bean I and many of us would not have had the opportunities afforded us not to mention the bonds and acquaintances of and with others who learned much under Dr. Bill. I thank Yah for him – May Yah be Merciful.
