Snake Salvation?

Snake Salvation?

I’m watching this program on NetFlix and marveling at the caviler reckless blend of suspended common-sense and cookie-cut Bible verses.

1St off it is questionable that Mark 16:9-20 should even be in the Bible; let alone make an obscure Theology from this ‘One Verse Charlie’

Consider this;
First, it is very important to remember that there are some questions regarding whether Mark chapter 16, verses 9-20 belong in the Bible. There is some evidence that these verses were not originally part of the Gospel of Mark. Some of the oldest and most reliable Greek manuscripts of the Gospel of Mark do not contain verses 9-20. Some other manuscripts contain Mark 16:9-20, but set them apart from the rest of the Gospel of Mark. As a result, it is not wise to use anything from Mark 16:9-20 as the sole basis for a doctrine or practice. Snake handling is one such example of a dubious concept from Mark 16:9-20. For more information, please read . Should Mark 16:9-20 be in the Bible?

If we assume, despite the evidence to the contrary, that Mark 16:17-18 does belong in Scripture, does it teach that we should be handling snakes in church? The answer to that question is a definitive no. Mark 16:17-18 does not contain any imperatives. It does not say, “Go out and handle snakes.” It says, “They will pick up snakes with their hands.” It is describing something that will occur, not commanding that something should occur. An example of this is the Apostle Paul in Acts 28:3-5: “Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand … But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.” Notice that Paul did not seek out to handle a snake. The snake bit Paul, but God protected Paul from the effects of the snake bite…”

Sadly while researching this trying to engage & warn them
I found that 1 of the 'Pastors' Jamie Coots in this biography
suffered a snake-bite in 'church' and died Sat. 2/15/14 and this
after 'Ricky Skaggs' correctly admonished the other 'Pastor' Andrew
Hamblin about tempting “God” [Yah]

Neither let us tempt [Messiah], as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Consider – How is it that they will focus on 1/6 of verses Mark 16:17-18 – on snakes – but ignore the drinking poison part?

How ’bout the lay hands and *shall* recover part?

Sorry for their loss – But I’m sure they did this – but he didn’t

How do you explain that?

The point is they don’t keep the Covenant !!! Mt.6:33, Rom.10:2-3

They do not seek the righteousness of YHWH – Their reward is 2Ths.2:10-12

The Bible is established on 3 witnesses – where are they?

If you site Moses?

You focus on the snake part (not commanded to do) and forget the Covenant? (commanded to do)

You pick & choose a mixed blend of inclusions & omissions

You forget what Yahshua actually did – (Jn.7:16. 1Jn.2:3-6) – Sabbath, Feastdays, etc. instead you keep Sunday, Xmas, Eastre, etc.

See Lev.23 and follow Acts 15:19-21; 17:11

1 response was that this was about fruit inspection – ???

This is about obedience not fruit – 2Ths.2:10-12

No snakes involved

  1. Maybe this paster ot to start a new congregation that goes out and talks to mountains. Gets some huge machinery and move mountains once he finds out that the mountain isn’t moving.
