Passover Q&A

An actual conversation – I do appreciate these honest thotful questions that truly seek an answer.

Question – point 1. there is no Chp& verse to cite re the ‘Last Supper’, which should not be surprising, since it was not yet time for the Passover meal. It is as I stated, “There is no mention in the scriptures that the lambs had been inspected and sacrificed by the priests, or that Yeshua and/or His disciples bought/took, sacrificed, roasted or ate a lamb.” The scriptures do say that there is to be a lamb sacrificed, roasted and eaten by each family in observance of the Passover. I’m sure that you are familiar with those scriptures.

Answer – @On point 1. there is no Chp& verse to cite re the ‘Last Supper’,

Last Supper ie Passover

Abib 14th (the evening start) – Lk.22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. (Mt 26:20; Mk14:17)
:15 And he (Yahshua) said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this **Passover** with you before I suffer:

‘before I suffer’ – qualifies – With desire I have desired to eat this **Passover** with you

Remember this? “Are you really prepared to say Yahshua Son of Yah was confused?”

I guess you are

Question – The scriptures do say that there is to be a lamb sacrificed, roasted and eaten by each family in observance of the Passover.

Answer – ‘sacrificed’ – Wrong
Ex 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and **the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill** it in the evening

07819. jxv shachat, shaw-khat’ a primitive root; to slaughter (in sacrifice or massacre):–kill, offer, shoot out, slay, slaughter.

That’s the point; Only priests wholesale sacrifice – What priests? at Ex.12?

Question – Are you are saying that, in the time that Yeshua walked the earth, the priests did not inspect the Passover lambs?

Answer – I am saying that, in the time that Yahshua walked the earth, the priests did inspect the Passover lambs at the proper time – BUT ate Passover 1 day late having married the 2 Feasts as 1

Question – Your statement “The errant Jewish/Pharisee not following Torah time.” is incomprehensible to me.

Answer – Read Lev.23:5 – 1 Day vs Lev.23:6 – 7 Days

Question – I have no idea what you are trying to tell me. Can you break it down? I don’t mind you telling me that I am “Wrong”, but would you please, please, please explain to me why so that I may learn?

Answer – I’m trying to do just that

Question – You seem to be saying that lambs were to be sacrificed on the evening of the 14th.

Answer – Yes – the evening that starts the 14th

Question – I am in full agreement,

Answer – Agreed

Question – but I see no scriptural evidence that the lambs had yet been sacrificed at the time of the ‘Last Supper’, or that Yahshua and his disciples ate a roasted lamb for the ‘Last Supper’ meal.

Answer – Not surprized – The Jews ate the 15th having married the 2 Feasts as 1 – Yahshua kept the Melkizedeq Ex.12 Passover instructions to the letter.

Question – To me, this is very strong evidence that the ‘Last Supper’ was not a Passover meal.

Answer – To me, this is very strong evidence that the ‘Last Supper’ was infact a Passover meal.

Question – Let us both be absolutely clear on this: I am not saying that Yahshua was confused or didn’t know when or how to keep the Passover.

Answer – Agreed; He most certainly was not – Yahshua kept the Melkizedeq Ex.12 Passover instructions to the letter.

Question – I am simply positing that the ‘Last Supper’, though it was most certainly a memorial meal, was not the Passover meal that Yahshua so strongly desired to eat with his disciples.

Answer – You mix concepts & terms in ‘memorial’ – by Ex 12:14 Passover is the ‘memorial’ – “:14 And this day (equal to Lev.23:5 – 1Day) shall be unto you for a *memorial*; and ye shall keep it a feast to YHWH throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.”

Question –  IMO, Yahshua’s very reason for telling His disciples that He fervently desired to eat the Passover with them is because He knew/had foreknowledge that He would be dead and in the grave/tomb when the appointed time for the Passover meal arrived. He revealed the foreknowledge of His impending death to His disciples, but they could not comprehend it.

Answer –  Yahshua’s very reason for telling His disciples that He fervently desired to eat the Passover with them is because He knew it was Passover. That the Jews by their ‘traditions’ (Mk.7:9) were not following the Torah Melkizedeq Ex.12 Passover instructions; Therefore 1 day too late on the 15th instead of the 14th.

This has confused many

Question – How does one keep the Ex.12 Passover instructions to the letter without roasting and eating a lamb?

Answer – Lk.22:8 And he (Yahshua) sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

Lk.22:11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

Lk.13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and *they made ready the passover*.

Lk.14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

Lk.15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to *eat this passover* with you *before I suffer*:

“…and they made ready the passover.”

What else would that mean? And this verified/substantiated by the Torah instruction.

I have no problem believing the Word of Yahshua – I have no problem believing that the Disciples would have obeyed Yahshua. That the Passover was readied and prepared including the lamb – Roasted and Eaten at the proper Ex.12 Melkizedeq Passover time at the evening beginning of the 14th just as Torah instructs.
