Exactly the Same?

Exactly the Same?

The Pharisees, Sadducees, Teachers, Jewish Religious Higher-ups, etc.; all feared Yahshua and His popularity for a few reasons, chief of which was change; which did not mean – ‘Exactly the Same’.

They evidently understood Gen.49:10 ‘…until Shiloh come;…’ did not mean – ‘Exactly the Same’.

That situation in that regards even today among the Rabbinic and Orthodox Jews has not changed much – at least in sentiment – in actuality is altogether another story. And yet even so; but to a lesser degree among the Reform to Karaite, etc.. The Messianics (Jews to ‘so-called’ Torah Observant, etc.) exhibit the same ‘Levitcal Priesthood/Rabbinic bent Mind-set’ that has slid and is still sliding its way to an increasingly Rabbinic position – that banners one position while it upholds/practices quite another.

Mouthing Upholding Torah – but not as Moses wrote it – adhering to Rabbinic &/or Jewish interpretation of Torah instead of what Torah says the way Torah says it. While we’re on the subject; even the Rabbinic usurpment of the Levitcal priest is itself an unlawful-unbiblical ‘Change’. Oy Vey!

We all must realize that we are to be on that straight and narrow path (Mt.7:13), – neither turning to the right or the left (Dt.5:32 – Prv.4:27). It is crucial to realize that there is a ‘Christian Church’ ditch on one side and a ‘Rabbinic Jewish’ ditch on the other – Both – that must be discerned and/or avoided.

There is a Messianic ‘Pastor’ that has changed a Sunday Church to a Messianic Jewish Assembly who did make the statement; “I am not about to give up a bunch of Church error only to embrace a bunch of Jewish error”. The intention of that statement is supremely accurate. Yet despite the correctness of that correct statement many have embraced, adamantly defend and vigorously justify implementing/use Rabbinic Jewish error just the same. (And as stated) Many Messianic Assemblies exhibit a distinct slide into ever more increasing Rabbinics. The way I have said it is; ‘It’s as huge a mistake to trash everything Jewish just because it’s Jewish, as it is to embrace everything Jewish just because it’s Jewish’ – we must use discernment at all points.

Discernment is not simply differentiating between right and wrong; but rather, it includes discerning to know the difference between right and almost right.
(Adapted from – C.H. Spurgeon)

Let’s deal with the primary objection first – I usually hear ‘you’re diminishing Torah’, you can’t divide the law, Paul makes no distinction of the law, the Torah is the Torah and cannot be divided; Yahshua said ‘I came not to abolish but to fulfill’, etc. I then ask: ‘does that include Gen.49:10’?  –  Of course it would!

Gen.49:10  ‘The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, *until* Shiloh come; …’ (Shiloh – epithet [another name] for Messiah i.e. Yahshua)

This is more than a pronouncement  – (which is fundamental in itself) – this is prophesy; ‘until’ being an awareness of future impending change. That must have a fulfilment; that some (on all sides of the Jewish spectrum) would very much like to explain away or in another way to another conclusion. They would have a much easier time if it were not for the fact that – the Apostle Paul (and others) give evidence of this ‘change’ in the New Testament. The question to ask ourselves is; where’d they get this stuff; Rabbi School? If that were so, the world should be filled with this knowledge  – but it’s not.

To the point; there are many that resist change in the Bible by Yahweh – even though there is evidence of change peppered all through His Word. For instance;

Gal 3:19  ‘Wherefore then serveth the law? (the Book of the Law v:10) It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; … ‘ – change

Heb 9:10  ‘Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of +reformation.’ <Diorthosis>+ (that is) ‘Messianic restoration’ – change.

Act 3:21 ‘ … until the times of restitution of all things …’ (spoken by Peter v:12) – change

Act 6:14 ‘…Yahshua … shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs…’ (Stephen)

Rom.5:14 ‘… who is a type of Him who was to come.’ – Gen.3:15/49:10 – change

Heb 7:12  ‘For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.’;  – Tah Daaah!

Both Priesthoods are Torah – both laws are Torah law – one is Melchizedek – one is Levitical. (Please read Heb.7:1-21 for your full edification enjoyment)

Remember Torah also states ‘that in the witness of two or three the matter is established’ (Dt.19:15). This then is the awareness we must realize – It is not a change of Torah to enact the change in Torah; that has in fact always been right there in the pages of Torah i.e. the first five books of Moses. ‘What a revolt’n development’-Yosemite Sam (cartoon character from the 60’s ;-)). The truth of the matter becomes; to refuse the change that has always been there is to ‘diminish ought’ from Torah (Dt.4:2; 12:32).

Prv.25:2  the glory of Yah to hide a matter: … the honour of kings to search it out.

2Cor. 3:11 ‘if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious.’

Now let’s deal with ‘remain’; for we have a problem. We intelligently know that ‘remain’ cannot be ‘remain’ unless it was established before – Right? But by the same token there is no awareness sense to use ‘remain’ as an identifying informational marker in a sentence unless something did not ‘remain’ – Right? This identifies change! What we now have is a ‘both-and’ situation not an ‘either-or’ – we have to use discernment. For that; we must let the Bible interpret itself.

There are many examples that evidence change in the Bible most notably from Torah; or back to Torah – that include:

Gen.1 – YHWH creating Adam & Eve pristinely to live (Plan ‘A’) they sinned now we all die (Plan ‘B’)  – a change.

Gen.3:15 – YHWH prophesies about the seed of the woman – a future way back to (Plan ‘A’) a reversion/a change prophesy –  further employed by the Shiloh Messianic prophesy of Gen.49:10.

Note; in Hebrew thought if you want to know the future look to the beginning – Pre Gen.3:1 that ultimately (post New Heavens/Earth) means – No Circumcision, No Tzitzits, No Levitical Priesthood, No Levitical law (Ezk.20:24-25), etc. – change.

Gen.7 Mass genocide by Flood – Gen 6:6-7 – change

Gen.12 – YHWH’s Abrahamic offer – Get thee out of thy country, … kindred, and … father’s house, – is change that Abraham accepted

Gen.15 – YHWH Covenants with Abraham to be family a step back to (Plan ‘A’) – initiating the change.

Gen.17 – Physical Circumcision the ‘token/sign’ of the Gen.15 conditional ‘death-position’ Covenant. The Gen.15 Covenant was broken with Gen.17 by Ex.32 Covenant break – enacting Yahshua’s crucifixion death.

Gen 22:12 – YHWH spares Isaac – and will provide ‘Himself a lamb’ a step back to (Plan ‘A’) – a change.

This is confirmed/reinforced by Gen.49:10 Messiah ‘until’ – prophesy of impending change; a step back to (Plan ‘A’) Which itself goes back to the seed of the woman prophesy of Gen.3:15 – Not so noted in any Bible. Gen.49:10 obviously knows Messiah is to come; how? By the Gen.3:15 prophesy.

The Gen.49:10 ‘until’ (hence the Gen.3:15 ‘seed’) – change prophesy is further reinforced by the New Testament/Covenant Apostles – Mt.11:3, Lk.7:19, Acts 3:21, 6:14; Gal.3:19; Heb.7:12, 9:10, etc.

Ex.12 – YHWH delivers Abraham’s Israelite descendants out of Egyptian bondage – a change.

Ex.19:5-24:8 – YHWH Covenants an agreement with Abraham’s family (Ex.19:5-8) a step back to (Plan ‘A’) – a change.

Ex.19 The Israelites were to be a nation ‘of’ priests (Melkizedeq) – (Plan ‘1’) – a change.

Ex.32 – The Israelites broke the Covenant – now were defiled/ineligible to be Melkizedeq Priests – self imposed infidelity – a change.

Ex.32:10 – YHWH relents to destroy all Israel – a change

YHWH was going to wipe them all out and start over with Moses – a very big change proposal – Moses pleaded – YHWH relented – but now Israel instead of being a nation ‘of’ priests (Melkizedeq – Plan ‘1’) would be a nation ‘with’ priests (Levitical – Plan ‘2’) –  a change.

Ex.32 by the witness of Jos.5:5 – The Israelites stopped circumcising anyone for 40+yrs – a change. Forever separating the broken Gen.17 Melkizedeq physical circumcision from the Jos.5:2 Levitical 2nd physical circumcision command.

Ex.24:12 thru Dt.31:26 ‘The Book of the Law – ‘added’ (Gal.3:10; 19/Ezk.20:24-25) – a change

The Book of the Law (Ex.24:12 – Dt.31:26) was ‘added’ alongside the already ratified (Ex.24:7-8; Gal.3:15) Covenant (Gal.3:10; 17-19) – (Plan ‘2’) – a change.

Jos.5:2 – The Levitical 2nd Com’d to circumcise – replacing the broken Melkizedeq Gen.17 1st Com’d – a change.

Israel would never again have the Melkizedeq – Plan ‘1’ option until the death of Yahshua – a change.

Num.3:12 / 8:16 – YHWH takes the Levites ‘instead’ of the (Melkizedeq) 1st born – a change.

Yahshua was not from the Levite priest tribe; yet declared High Priest after the order of Melchizedek – a change.

Heb.7:12 ‘a change of the priesthood means a change in the law; (Plan ‘2’) back to (Plan ‘1’) – a  reversion/change

When we (including Gentiles) accept Yahshua; we become as the common-wealth of Israel  – a change.

Rev.19:7 – The marriage of the Lamb – to us as family – a change back to (Plan ‘A’).

Isa.66:22-23 – New Heavens and New Earth – the ultimate and final reversion/change back to the original – The Genesis (Plan ‘A’)

Jer.31:31-33 ‘New’ /’not like’ – Does not mean re-New-ed exactly the same & is a change.

Compare Ex.34 by Ezk.20:24-25 – Added laws ‘not good’ – a change

Some would say – ‘the two priesthoods have two different purposes. They’re not contradictory’.

No; they have the same purpose but two different methods. They’re not necessarily contradictory in goal – but they are in method – how to achieve that goal.

Gal 2:21 “I do not set aside the grace of Yah; for *if* righteousness comes through the (Levitical) law, then Yahshua died in vain.”

Gal 3:21 Is the (Levitical) law then against the promises of Yah? Yah forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the (Levitical) law.

Heb 7:11 ¶ *If* therefore perfection( /ie righteousness) were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the **law**,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12 For the **priesthood** being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the **law**.

changed/change – does not mean the same, in tandem, or co-equal or some how synchronized

Its either 1 or the other – it cannot be both!

To do so would violate the “One law’ edict of Torah

Ex 12:49 “One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.”  –  In other words – For the Israelite and the Commonwealth of Israel. (Eph.2:19)

Exactly the Same ‘One law’
