Our High Priest

Our High Priest

A little bit or even in some cases a large bit of knowledge is or can be a dangerous thing. Before you go screaming off in to the sunset know that the knowledge we are to seek must be fully-accounted-for.

So what do we know about our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek ?

Heb 5:5 So also Yahshua glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he (YHWH – Yahweh) that said unto him (Yahshua), Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee (Ps.2:7). :6 And he saith also in another place (Ps.110:4), Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb_6:20 … even Yahshua, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb_7:21 For those (Livite) priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, YHWH sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:

Ps.110:4 YHWH hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. (Ps 110:1 “… The LORD said unto my Lord …” KJV – or most correctly – YHWH said to Adonai)

What can we know about this phrase ‘the order of Melchizedek’?

The word ‘order’ (H1700 דּברה – dibra^h) can mean – command or authoritative instruction; a request or an invoice for services or goods; or a specialized grouping – whether in (an over time) lineage succession of or an immediate grouping of ie a ‘hood’ – Brotherhood, Sisterhood, Knighthood, Neighborhood; Priesthood, etc.

This ‘specialized grouping’ is not the same as, is separate from, does not include the Levitical Priesthood.

Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and NOT be called after the order of Aaron?

The Melchizedek Priesthood spans from pre-creation to re-creation. The Israelites were to continue the Melchizedek Priesthood – BUT – they broke the Covenant (Ex.32:10, Jer.31:32). They were no longer eligible to be in the Melchizedek Priesthood (this included Aaron and his sons) – they were thrust into a Levite only Priesthood. The plan ‘B’ Levitical Priesthood was born. It lasted till the death and resurrection of Yahshua.

Heb 7:13 For he of whom these (Melchizedek) things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe (Judah), of which no man gave attendance at the altar. 14 For it is evident that Yahshua sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning (Levitical) priesthood.

(There are ongoing Levitical Priesthood considerations mainly dealing with and thru ‘the sons of Aaron’)

Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

This is not a ‘change’ to no law, nor is it a change to no priesthood. It is a reversion back to the pre-covenant break Melchizedek plan ‘A’ values with its Melchizedek law (both covenant and non-covenant).

Examples of Melchizedek Covenant Law would include; inheritance of the Land (Israel – Gen.15:7), the 10 Com’dts (Ex.20), Appointed Time Feastdays, Sabbatical year (Jubilee – by implication), Sabbath (Ex.23), the Melchizedek Priesthood (Ex.19:5-6 ‘if’ they would heed His voice and keep covenant – they did not), etc.

Examples of Melchizedek non-Covenant Law would include; Clean Meats (Gen.7), the pronouncements of Gen.48 & 49, Passover, Redeeming the 1st Born, a one time tithe (of the net not the gross – ‘spoils’ Heb.7:4) evidenced and preserved at Gen.14, Physical Circumcision (the 1st Melchizedek command – Gen.17:10-11).

Examples of Levitical non-Covenant Law would include; prohibition of fire on Sabbath (Ex.35:3), Tzitzit (Prayer Shawl – by implication), Day of Atonement, Tephillim, Phylacteries (Head & Arm bands), continual compulsory Levitical tithing, Physical Circumcision (the 2nd Levitical command – Jos.5:2)

It must be understood that anything before Ex.24:11 is Melchizedek and that anything after Ex.24:12 is Levitical – However; there are restated (still in effect) Melchizedek values redundant in the Levitical law – both in effect for the balance of Torah and the TaNaK until the birth, death and resurrection of Yahshua.

Physical Circumcision of Gen.17 was a Melchizedek value until the Covenant break of Ex.32 for then the Israelites stopped circumcising their young for the next 40 + yrs (Jos.5:5).

Jos 5:5 Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had **not** circumcised.

Jos 5:2 At that time YHWH said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.

Did you catch that; ‘the second time’ – When was the 1st? Answer – Gen.17

The edict of Jos.5:2 is clearly under the post Covenant break (Ex.32) Levitical Priesthood (Num.3:12).

So what this intelligently means is that of those today circumcising for a biblical religious value are being obedient to Jos.5:2 and NOT to Gen.17 as is almost exclusively supposed. Hence Paul was correct; substantiated on the evidence of YHWH’s Word.

Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people
received the law,) {12 … the priesthood being changed, [also] a change of the law.}

1Cor 7:19 … Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, …

But – but; what about Passover?;

Ex 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to YHWH, let  all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

This originally was the only Melchizedek value in Torah on the subject of Passover in the entire Bible. But then the New Covenant/Testament (post Crucifixion – current Resurrection) is a Melchizedek value also;

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart (Gen.6:8-9, Dt.10:16), in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of Yah.

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of (Melchizedek) Messiah (Yahshua):

There is much more to be discovered and considered. Messianic Apologies

Messianic Apologies

There’s a mix every where you go the recipes are different but its a mix nonetheless.

The Christian Church mix in Catholic Imagination and reconstituted pagan error with their own
The Messianic Assemblies mix in Rabbinic Imagination and reconstituted pagan error with their own

The Bible reveals 2 priesthoods 1] Melchizedek 2] Levitical – Biblically from Torah there is no such thing as a Rabbinic or Pharisaic Priesthood or Priest.

Rabbis are an out growth of Pharisee that originate in and out of Jewish Babylonian captivity with the pagan earmarks to prove it.

The ‘Jews’ i.e. ‘House of Judah’ i.e. the tribe of Judah, Benjamin and partial tribe of Levi (Levi the legitimate priesthood Ex.40:13-15) lost their written language, some pronunciations, some definitions, etc. Acquiring writing deemed ‘Hebrew’ (by modern onlookers) actually taught to the ‘Jews’ by their Arab captors – pagan names of months (Babylonian gods and goddesses) still in use today not in Torah (case in point ‘Nisan’ in place of the only name in Torah for any month; the 1st month of ‘Abib’ Ex.12:2) – Acquiring different pronunciations, alternate definitions, applications, practices, etc.

Babylon is the birthplace of the sacredized Talmud and the priesthood usurpment eventually to be known as ‘Pharisee’ – modernly known as ‘Rabbi’. And an indomitably attitude of adding and subtracting to and from Torah forbidden by Torah. This adding and subtracting is facilitated in no small part by the highly speculative and subjective assertion of ‘Oral Torah’ found no where in Torah or the rest of the TaNaK (Dt.31:24).

The nebulous nature of ‘Oral Torah’ allows for inventive ‘options’ at a moments ready in any otherwise meaningful conversation or debate. ‘Oral Torah’ is flatly refuted as a construct of imagination by at least one sect of ‘Jews’ known as the ‘karaites’; which are ‘scirpturalists’. This position is substantiated by such Torah verses that include (but not limited to) Ex.24:3-4; Dt.9:10; 27:3; 28:58; 29:29; 31:12; 31:24; 32:46. Even verses outside Torah that include (but not limited to) Jos.8:34; 24:27; Jer.32:2; 36:2, etc.

‘Rabbi’ just meaning teacher is benign enough; But ‘Rabbi’ as a title bestowed by credentialed conference of a ‘Bet Din’ (a governing body of Rabbi’s) is abjectly unscriptural in the most usurping of terms and position possible. It is a flagrant assumption of a most glaring order; case-in-point when Moses said ‘if something be to hard for you … bring it to the priests’; at that point in Torah there were no ‘Rabbis’ that had assumed upon the Levitical priestly office; ergo neither Moses (or YHWH) ever gave authority to ‘Rabbis’ to supplant anyone.

So; the only respect, deference or legitimacy due a ‘Rabbi’ (or any other claiming title) should be no more than to any other lost sinful man that is trying to (presumably honestly – scripturally) find biblical truth.

‘Rabbis’ assert a legitimizing claim via Ex.18 – the problem is that Ex.18 is a Melchizedek priesthood (plan ‘a’) standard; that was suspended by Yah in favor of a interim plan ‘b’ Levitical priesthood (Num.3:12) until Messiah came (Gen.49:10; Gal.3:19; Heb.7:12; 9:10, etc). Problem #1 – Orthodox ‘Rabbis’ don’t believe in Yahshua, so for them there is no reversion back to plan ‘a’ – therefore no legitimate appeal to Ex.18.

Orthodox ‘Rabbis’ influencing every stripe of of Judaism including Messianic, lodge the assertion that a/the Priesthood office was given to the Levities via the Talmud, Mishna, Gen.49:5 , etc. Talmud and the rest at best is a commentary of Torah/scripture – it is not scripture. Gen.49:5 is Torah – it is at best a pronouncement involving a curse on Simeon and Levi; recounting the events of Gen.34 that again involved both Simeon and Levi. Gen.49:5 cannot be cut in half to only bless Levi with priesthood that is clearly not there. This Gen.49:5 priesthood blessing assertion is a lie – a direct reassigned reversal fabrication of the highest level of flagrancy – easily revealed as such; but rarely investigated.

Shabbat Shalom

ShabShal

Shabbat Shalom –

‘Nothing missing nothing broken in your life’. This is what a Messianic ‘pastor’ continually adds every time he bids the congregation closing the service and says ‘Shabbat Shalom’.

‘Shalom’ means ‘Peace’; it also is a greeting as well a parting ‘good bye’ statement.

H7965
שׁלם שׁלום
sha^lo^m sha^lo^m
shaw-lome’, shaw-lome’
From H7999; safe, that is, (figuratively) well, happy, friendly; also (abstractly) welfare, that is, health, prosperity, peace: – X do, familiar, X fare, favour, + friend, X greet, (good) health, (X perfect, such as be at) peace (-able, -ably), prosper (-ity, -ous), rest, safe (-ly), salute, welfare, (X all is, be) well, X wholly.

H7999
שׁלם
sha^lam
shaw-lam’
A primitive root; to be safe (in mind, body or estate); figuratively to be (causatively make) completed; by implication to be friendly; by extension to reciprocate (in various applications): – make amends, (make an) end, finish, full, give again, make good, (re-) pay (again), (make) (to) (be at) peace (-able), that is perfect, perform, (make) prosper (-ous), recompense, render, requite, make restitution, restore, reward, X surely.

Shabbat Shalom – Nothing missing nothing broken in your life. Is an accurate encapsulation of these broad inclusive definitions.

However; for many congregation leaders (including this one) this accurate statement somehow does not extend to the name of the Most High.

We say we say the Shema

Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Dt.6:4 Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheynu Adonai echad …

-or- The ‘Ironic’ supposed to be ‘Aaronic’ blessing

Num 6:24 The LORD/Adonai bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25 The LORD/Adonai make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26 The LORD/Adonai lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Both LORD and Adonai hide, replace, supplant, stand in for the word Moses wrote; ‘יהוה’ or more correctly ‘hwhy’ – YHWH – Yahweh – ‘hwhy’ (FYFZ) [this app will not support actual Paleo-Hebrew font] – being the ancient Paleo-Hebrew; the one Moses wrote in.

This ‘pastor’ excuses this by saying ‘we don’t know what that name is’ not even using Yah (Ps.68:4).

Whether pronunciations based on YHWH, YHVH or YHUH, it is the Hebrew way (Not Rabbinic but Hebrew)

Whether pronunciations of Yahweh or Yahwah, Yahveh or Yahvah, etc. – we are pronouncing a short ‘a’ and a long ‘a’ or 2 shorts. Not much difference when you think of it that way.

So – believers; answer this question – Are we truly being blessed by the dis-obedient as they disobey?

Yah’s (short ‘a’) Esteem

Trading Places

Some Messianics – Hebrew Roots that have come from the Church have become embittered at the Church, to the point of being incensed at the prospect that the Church could be right about anything.

I remember being angry about all the truisms, omissions, voids, sidesteps, lies and error postulations myself – We have all come from a ‘let-me-tell-you-what-this-means’ program.

Most of us have already had to deal with and process through the religious sophistry – in other words, we have all been taught to disregard what is plainly there.

Yet we all must remember that Satan’s best tool is to mix lies and errors with truth. Even so; a large percentage of the ‘truth’ the Church does have is taught in a way that tends to support the religious error.

That necessarily means that the Church does have some ‘truth’; but we must prayerfully sift through it with fully-accounted-for Biblical, Scriptural, Torah and exercised Spiritual discernment.

Because of their Torah disregarding and/or minimizing theology; what the Church has produced the most of instead of ‘fully equipped disciples’ is ill-equipped Spiritual Schizophrenics.

A ‘schizophrenic’ has ten fingers, ten toes, two eyes, two legs, a mouth, a nose, etc. in short he looks normal, but his view of reality is not reality.

In the same way these ‘Spiritual Schizophrenics’ have a view of religious reality that does not reflect biblical reality.

Plainly; religious adherence is not the same as Scriptural Obedience.

The highly sophisticated ‘Rabbinics’ of Judaism have their polished version of this same ‘Spiritual Schizophrenic’ scenario.

When we hear of ‘replacement theology’ we classically think of the Church placing themselves in the place of the biblical ‘nation of Israel’ now being the recipients of the blessings once promised to Israel.

They see themselves as legitimate extensions of the blessing through Abraham upon all nations – which is partially correct (a truism).

Yet they do not see themselves as part of biblical Israel, nor keep the Appointed Times of the Covenant despite all the New Testament evidence to the contrary (Rom.11:25; Eph.2:12/:19, etc.).

Now go read Mt.15:3, Mk.7:9/:13 – Yahshua (Christ) basically says ‘you have transgressed the commandment of Yah with your traditions’

– ‘you-your’ is Jewish, Pharisees i.e. Rabbis ergo Jewish ‘replacement theology’.

Plainly; both the ‘Church’ and the ‘Rabbi’s’ have their own ‘replacement theology’.
