Melchizedek Tithing

Melchizedek Tithing

The Ex.24:7-8 now ratified Book of the Covenant (BotC) was in fact the first order of Mt. Sinai business, even further under the Melchizedek priesthood (Gen.14:18, Heb.7:11). I suspect, further submit, that this is the one most over-looked foundation, comparison, by which to gage the collage of ALL doctrinal belief systems. One example; TITHING, yet a chapter in itself. It is neither contained in the BotC, 10 Com’dts, nor supported by the New Testament. It is contained in the Book of the Law (BotL – Ex.24:12 – Dt.31:26) to support a Levitical Priesthood we NO longer have (either one! – Col.2:14-Dt.31:26, Heb.7:11-12).

Briefly; Abraham gave (freewill), ‘A’ tithe ‘of recovered items’ (Heb.7:4 – spoils) ONCE in His life (Gen.14:20). This did not include everything that he owned. This is the Melchizedek model of Heb.7:4; so let’s follow it. We have NO record that Isaac ever tithed. However there is ONE account that Jacob/Israel vowed to tithe (Gen. 28:22) that may be the premise of Levitical tithing, that YHWH had never before (the Covenant breech of the ‘gold calf’) required. A (one) freewill tithe does NOT equal the compulsory continual BotL tithing of Mal.3.

If one looks closely at the opening lines of the Book of the Covenant – YHWH said ‘*if* you keep My covenant … you will be My people’ (Ex.19:5-6) – Yah also states – Israel is ‘My Firstborn’ (Ex.4:22/Jer.31:9). But Israel broke the Covenant defiled themselves; no longer undefiled son’s (no longer Yah’s ‘peculiar’ treasured people), now thrust under a Levitical Priesthood with a commanded mandate to collect tithes that were not ‘imposed’ by YHWH at any time before the Covenant breach (Ex.33:5, Jer.2:11; 4:22, Hos.1:9, 1Pt.2:10, Heb.7:5).

It should raise our critical interest that the premier showcase Old Testament Book of Malachi, used universally at Chapter 3 to “prove” Levitical tithing as being spuriously valid in the New Testament; at Chapter 4 charges us directly to “Remember the law of Moses”, specifically the “statutes and judgments” agreed to in Covenant at Mt.Sinai (in Horeb) in the Exodus Chapter of ‘Torah’ (The First 5 Bible Books of Moses).

Mal.4:4 “Remember ye the law of Moses my servant,
which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel,
with the statutes and judgments.” (Heb.4:2)

This is very reminiscent of Psalms 111:9-10; for these ‘statutes and judgments’ are Covenanted as will be shown.

Psalm 111:9 “He sent redemption unto his people: he
hath commanded His covenant for ever: holy and
reverend is His Name.10 The fear of YHWH is the
beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have
all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever.”

This ‘good understanding’ certainly has to do with how we in integrity to this verse conduct our daily lives and seek to teach our own family and others. But first and
foremost is how we apply this ‘Covenant-Commandment’ ‘wisdom’ and ‘good understanding’ to the ‘rightly dividing’ (2Tim.2:15) of His instruction and Truth to be able to conduct our daily lives and teach others true to this same integrity.

Mat 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? :25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Yahshua prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? who do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own (sons), or of strangers? :26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Yahshua saith unto him, Then are the (sons) free.

Without taking up a lot of space the words (both primary and root) that define ‘custom’ and ‘tribute’ lean heavily on the idea of ‘tithe’.

The thing to understand of Malachi; YHWH is speaking primarily to the Levitical Priests through Malachi

Mal 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith YHWH of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

Mal 1:10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith YHWH of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

(Only priests kindled the altar fire)

Mal 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

Mal 3:8 Will a man rob YHWH? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

The following are among the closing words of the Melchizedek Book of the Covenant.

Exo 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of YHWH (covenant statutes), and all the (covenant) judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which YHWH hath said will we do. (Ex.24:7)

These words [including judgments] (Ex.19:5-24:8) did not contain tithe or tithing verbiage.

Gal 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

No adding – No subtracting – The Book of the Covenant (Ex.19:5-24:8) does not contain ‘tithing’ or any such verbiage. You cannot add tithing into this blood ratified Covenant.

However – when the Israelites broke the Covenant (Ex.32); YHWH was going to wipe them all out and start over with Moses (v:10). Moses pleaded for the people, YHWH relented – but now Yah had options. First He consigned all Israel to a Levite Tribe only priesthood (Num.3:12). He also (amongst other things) instituted tithing to support (Num.18:26) that priesthood..

Mal 3:8 Will a man rob Yah? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

That is interesting – ‘you have robbed me in tithes and offerings’. Tithes is one issue but ‘offerings’ is quite another. An ‘offering’ is ‘offered’; it is not required. How then can you steal by not offering what is not required? The only way you can steal this type of offering is by a 3rd party. In this case the 3rd party is the lower priests who were supposed to dispatch/convey the tithes and offerings of the people to the Temple Alter/High Priest but would shut the temple doors, not kindle the alter, not killing and burning the sacrifice – but keeping it for themselves. In a word; priestly embezzlement.

It must be noted that the New Testament does not support Levitical tithing; However; it does support SOW & REAP [includes all aspects of life NOT just $$$ – not limited to 10%], sowing Heavenward, supporting, giving, etc.

A Life Walk

The ‘Jesus’ that they taught me; was born a Hebrew Jew
He came to save us ‘from’ all sin … to show us what to do.

He said, “keep the Commandments” and “go and sin no more”
But most learn … Sunday’s holy; He never said … or did before.

John 7:16 says this ‘Jesus’ said … My doctrine is “not” My own
He walked all days in His Father’s ways … the example for us is shown.

Yahshua taught and kept Yahweh’s Torah … His Father’s Word and too
Kept His Sabbath days; His Annual Appointed Times; even using Hanukkah at John 10:22

Most Churches preach every Sunday … on Easter … at Christmas and Valentines
With flying deer … pierced hearts … eggs and bunnies … all pagan made up times.

We teach this to our children; as Truth and Praise to ‘God’?
We say we follow His Word; but it’s not there. … This is odd.

Yahshua’s Birth, Death, Resurrection … The core Bible that is True
We mix with profane customs; then … Praise and Worship with it too?

2 Corinthians 11:15; presents a sobering theme … of Satan’s ministry done in Church
Like that old stuff was all changed … it’s been ‘fulfilled’; no need to obey … or search.

Preaching ‘grace – no law’ … ‘just trust in Jesus’ … that’s all we need to do
But Matthew 7:23 says it … differently … obeying the Truth of His Law is on you.

We’re taught a Brand New Gospel … All things are different from “the Cross”;
But; Hebrews 4:2 Sinai ‘Gospel’; … remains the same for “them” … and all of “us”.

We’re all to confess of all sin … living His Commandments … in His Covenant
We all are to be … Yahweh’s very Family … under His Ephesians 2:12 ‘cover-net’.

Yahweh’s Covenant … to walk outside it … is to go it on your own
Childish ignorance is of one thing … is of arrogance when you’re grown.

Reward is what we all want … Breeching Yahweh’s Covenant?
We’ll get rewarded all right … in what the wicked are to get.

So turn your heart to the Covenant Mediator … accept Yahshua, Yahweh’s Son
Learn His Covenant and Commandments; gaining His life when your life is done.

The Great Commission

The Great Commission

Mat 28:18 And Yahshua came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Set-Apart Spirit: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This was stated by Yahshua ha Mashiach – our High Priest after the order of Melkizedeq (Ps.110:1-4/Heb.7:11-14; 21). We that believe Yahshua and His New Testament/Covenant are also called into this same Melkizedeq Priesthood (1Pt.2:9).

These opening verses have come to be known as ‘The Great Commission’. It is the final directive to all that name the Name of Yahshua – the High Priest after the order of Melkizedeq.

Evangelism – Witnessing have taken on many forms and equations; stating many things – some not true and misleading. There is one that stands head-and-shoulders above the rest – it is known as ‘The Way of the Master’.This protocol employs the ‘Ten Commandments’ as a script – but – as with the rest it is lacking.

Have you ever lied? – Have you ever stolen? – Have you ever looked with lust? – Have you ever taken “God’s” name in vain? The premiss (and well taken) is that it is much better to ask these questions; having them honestly answer for themselves, than for you to accuse – You are a Liar – You are a Thief – You are a Pervert – You are a Blasphemer.

This is their script and as far as they go. A great start but not far enough. They point out that the ‘witnessed-to’ have broken the Laws of [Yahweh]; and that they need a Saviour – what is not considered is that the ‘witnessor’ also breaks the Laws of Yahweh. In that they wrench a ‘Decision for Christ’ using the ‘Ten Commandments’ – then send them to a Sunday Church that teaches a ‘not under the law’ program – ignoring the 7th Day Sabbath 4th commandment of the very same ‘Ten Commandments’ – Go Figure???

The ‘Ten Commandments’ (Ex.20) are part and parcel of the ‘Book of the Covenant’ (Ex.19:5-24:8)

Gal 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

In other words – No Adding, No Subtracting; No Plus, No Minus

You cannot ‘cookie-cut’ the part you like out of a covenant. This is what Yahweh has to say on that point;

Ps.50:16 But unto the wicked Yah saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? 17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

The ‘Book of the Covenant’ (Ex.19:5-24:8) includes Chapter 23 – which is the short form of Lev.23. It includes the 7th Day Sabbath and the Annual Mow`edims (Feasts).

The founding leader of ‘The Way of the Master’ and his actor co-presentor keep Sunday not Sabbath, they keep Christmas and Easter not the Annual Mow`edims (Feasts). They do not keep the Covenant they partially proclaim and have made a living from.

We are to set a difference between the pure and the profane.

Lev 10:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Still they raise some valid points that are well taken. We that name the Name of Yahshua – that hold to the New Covenant are under the Melkizedeq directive of ‘The Great Commission’. Who has more right to the Melkizedeq ’10 Commandments’ than Messianic/Hebrew Root Covenant Keepers?

We don’t need to reinvent this wheel – but we do need to bring this ‘Way of the Master’ to its logical Melkizedeq Covenant conclusion (for starters) to include the 7th Day Shabbat and the Annual Mow`edims (Feasts) – the legitimate *Way of Messiah* free from the impurities.

Hold the Phone

Hold the Phone

Clearly stated; the parameters of the Book of the Covenant (BotC) are Ex.19:5 (consistent with the law of first mention) to Ex.24:8 (consistent with the law of last mention including the given name at v:7). Also clearly stated; the parameters of the Book of the Law (BotL) are Ex.24:12 (consistent with the law of first mention) to Dt.31:26 (consistent with the law of last mention including the given name at v:26).

Now let’s deal with the law side of the ‘Rightly Dividing’ point. Some of you may want to ask; ‘hold the phone’ – how can you say that Ex.24:12 is the start of the Book of the Law? There is no Levitical Priesthood at this point either. Which would both be a valid question and statement.

We have to account for and understand a few points. One being as stated; the law of first mention and the law of last mention. Another is realizing that Ex.24:12 is the 4th call up on the Mount that turns out to be the start of the infamous 40 days and 40 nights. With the Book of the Covenant already having been Blood Ratified; decisively meaning that nothing can be added or taken away (Gal.3:15). The Ex.24:12 statement includes ‘come up here; I will give you … a law … I have written’ – Not that we’ve agreed to. YHWH understands and abides by Law including the Law of a sealed ratified no plus no minus covenant. That’s why we can trust Him. By the same token YHWH knowing the end from the beginning, knew what the Israelites would do – Make a Golden Calf that would break the covenant and at that in less than 40 days (Ex.32). Note – Aaron himself made the Gold Calf, then lied about it. He also was no longer eligible to be a Melchizedek Priest.

The point is that from Ex.24:12 to Ex.32:1, the people had no idea what Moses was doing, where he was, what he was getting, or how long he’d be. Ex.24:12 to Ex.32:1 takes in the complete 40 days and 40 nights. Moses was getting an instruction that would double as a damage control back-up plan i.e. Plan ‘B’. It isn’t till Ex.27:21 that Aaron and his son’s are even mentioned. Paul makes a defining statement at Heb.7:11;

Heb 7:11 ‘If .. perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law..’

Now I can make my point – to do so I must ask the question; ‘in Hebrew thought, when does life begin? – at Birth or Conception?’ Conception – right? Ex.24:12 is the conception point of the ‘Law’ (post-covenant) that brought the Levitical Priesthood that the people had no idea about until Moses came down the mountain, but by then they had already breached the Covenant with the Golden Calf (Ex.32), and were now under the Levitical priesthood provision. Israel no longer would be; because of their covenant breach, a nation of  (Melchizedek) priests (Ex.19:5-6); They would now (post covenant breach) be a nation with Levite priests (Ex.40:13-15/Num.3:12 / 8:16-19)  – the Levitical Priesthood was born.

So Paul’s cryptic assessment at Heb.7:11 is correct. I do realize there are those that dispute Paul being the writer of the New Testament chapter called ‘Hebrews’. I have no doubt that Paul; whether the actual writer or not was the originating author of ‘Hebrews’. Whether pen written by Paul or a student, contemporary, disciple or scribe of Paul; Hebrews agrees so very closely with the rest of Paul’s New Testament evidences of Torah; dispute virtually evaporates. Those that discount or out right reject Paul, have to discount or out right reject his claim that he was taught the Gospel by Yahshua (Gal.1:11-12). They do so at their own peril (2Ths.2:10-12).

2Ptr.3:15  And account that the longsuffering of YHWH is salvation; even as **our beloved brother Paul** also according to the **wisdom given to him** has written to you; :16  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things **hard to be understood**, which they that are unlearned and unstable **twist**, as they **do also the other scriptures**, unto their own destruction.

It is taught in wilderness survival training, that there are 2 main reasons why people get and stay lost. 1] No remembered awareness – (forgetting the meadow, hill, boulder, tree-stand, river-fork, etc. you passed). 2] Disregarding those things that would indicate direction – (sun-rise, sun-set, moon-rise, star pattern, river-flow, compass setting, etc.). It is identically the same with the Bible, there are 2 main reasons why people biblically get and stay lost. 1] No remembered awareness (Jms.1:25); and 2] Disregarding those things that would indicate direction (2Ptr.3:16/1Tm.1:7).
